Tequila is for more than margaritas and Cinco de Mayo. It’s a dutiful team player across myriad cocktails. To celebrate National Tequila Day, Monday, July 24, here are several Herradura Tequila recipes.
Kiwi Cooler
2 ounces Herradura Silver
½ ounce lime juice
½ ounce agave nectar
1 ounce cucumber juice
½ kiwi
Kiwi discs, for garnish
Place all ingredients into a shaker filled with cubed ice. Shake hard to break down the kiwi and chill the drink. Strain into a tall glass over cubed ice and garnish with kiwi discs.
Blood Orange and Mint Cocktail
2 ounces Herradura Silver
2 ounces blood orange juice
½ ounce lime juice
½ ounce agave syrup
6 – 8 mint leaves
1 mint sprig, for garnish
1 lime disc, for garnish
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a highball over cubed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and a lime disc.
Añejo Old-Fashioned
2 slices orange
2 scoops sugar
3 drops Angostura bitters
½ ounce Herradura Añejo
1 – 2 brandied cherries, for garnish

In an Old-Fashioned glass muddle the orange slices, sugar, and bitters. Add ice (spherical recommended) to glass. Add Herradura Añejo. Garnish with brandied cherries.
Herradura Luxe
2 lime wedges
2 lemon wedges
2 ounces Herradura Silver
1 ounce agave nectar
1 ounce water
In a rocks glass, muddle lime and lemon wedges. In a shaker filled with ice, add remaining ingredients. Shake to mix and transfer to rocks glass.
