The Infamous Stringdusters have been entertaining fans with their witty sounds and indie sensibilities since the acoustic bluegrass band formed in 2006. With Andy Hall on dobro, Jeremy Garrett on fiddle, Travis Book on bass, Andy Falco on guitar, and Chris Pandolfi on banjo, the band puts out a sound that can hardly be captured in conventional terms.
Tunes like “Let It Go,” “Colorado,” and “Fork in the Road” get a modern rock ’n’ roll twist on bluegrass. But on their recent EP, Undercover, Vol. 2, the Grammy-nominated band does it in reverse, putting bluegrass spins on classic hits and pop songs like My Morning Jacket’s “Golden,” The Allman Brothers Band’s “Jessica,” Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On,” Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” and The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven.”

“I’ve always dug The Cure’s ‘Just Like Heaven,’” Andy Falco says. “When considering material for our Undercover 2 EP, I had the idea of doing it as a bluegrass song. So we gave it a shot and it really worked well! I loved the idea of the video being in an old-school roller rink, and was thrilled to get back on some roller skates. I think you can see in the video how much fun we were having making it. I hope everyone enjoys it as much.”
Strap on your skates for this fun bluegrass take on a classic hit.
